The Norwegian Seamen's Church in
New York

Uranienborg
Vokalensemble was established by conductor Elisabeth
Holte in February 2002 and consists of 22 singers.
In the course of the choirs short history the ensemble has
produced many concerts on a large scale consisting of both
church music and profane music from different time periods.
The choir has done several productions for the Norwegian
Broadcasting Company (NRK) and works on a regular basis
together with professional musicians and singers. Uranienborg
Vokalensemble is based in the Uranienborg Church in the
center of Oslo in Norway.
Elisabeth
Holte is educated choir conductor at the Norwegian
Academy of Music and holds a master in choral conducting.
She has also studied with Eric Ericsson in Sweden and has
been working as a choir conductor at the Uranienborg Church
since 2002 where she also founded the Uranienborg Vokalensemble.
Elisabeth Holte is now also teaching choral conducting at
the Norwegian Academy of Music and is frequently used as
a conductor and instructor on seminars held by the Norwegian
Choir Association.
We
are very happy that Uranienborg Vokalensemble
will honor us with a concert at our Church during their
tour in the US in October 2006 and we invite you all to
join us for this magnificent concert.
